Default Reverse

Hello Eveyone,

So my car has been acting up lately. It doesn't seem to want to go into reverse when i first start it up. When i put it in drive, it does go...but i can only drive about 5 mph until it clicks in....any idea what is going on?
When i drive the car around, it seems to be going smooth and fine. My tran fluid levels are good, i checked those.

Thank You,
Steve

do a flush and fill with a good synthetic fluid, amsoil, bg, or toyota. Mine was doing the same thing in reverse, like not engaging for a few seconds. Took it to a lube place, they used the bg fluid and now it works fine.

if that doesnt help then start hunting a trannie, they are pretty common and not to expensive. If you do the trannie, replace the front and rear seals on the trannie and the rear main on the motor.

99% your tranny is on its way out. Dont let the thick oil trick temporarily fool you.
