Default Upper Control Arm

Just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to replace the front upper control arm ball joint (circled) opposed to replacing the entire control arm. There is TON of play in it and i hear it rattle every time i go over a small bump. It must be replaced either way. I ask given the fact sewell does not have a part number for the upper ball joint itself. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks

Like Busha said...you can't just replace the ball joint. I bought my new arm from Rock Auto and actually installed it tonight....It was $130 shipped.

On my former GS i had 140k miles before i replaced mine. I was stupid for doing this because there was so much play it was ridiculous i could have killed myself. Change the whole arm.

The one I bought seems solid....It was like $122 plus shipping. Looked identical to the ones I removed down to the stamping so the previous owner may have done them once already.

So far I don't thing anyone has done it successfully....but I think some guys are trying to do it on their SCs so if they get that to work then it should transfer over to the GS too.
