Default Wait until 9/9 or do it myself

So I bought a Yelp deal for an oil change place. It was $40 for three oil changes. However, I'm nearing my 3k mark in a few days and I don't know if I want to wait until 9/9 (the shop is that busy), especially since I'll have to add 200+ miles during Labor Day weekend visiting my partner.

I've already bought the Mobil 1 (not gonna go with the store one!) and filter, so I could possibly do it myself, but I get lazy and it will take me longer to do it than to take it to the shop.

So my choices are:
1) Do it myself
2) Wait until 9/9
3) Go elsewhere and sell the deal
4) Go elsewhere and save the deal, but book way in advance next time

*Not sure if this belonged specifically in the GS forum or the general forum, but I figured that since this is for my GS, I'd place it here. Mods, move if you feel it's necessary.

Keep the deal and wait till 09/09. Your oil will still be good since you're doing 3K OCIs. 200 miles more won't do any harm.

It will probably be more than 200. I'd estimate that at least another 500, if not closer to 1k by then

Even so, I wouldn't worry about doing 4K, or even 5K, with the same oil, unless it's dino oil. I do 7.5K OCIs with synthetic oil without any issues.

What kind of oil do you use?

Dino can easily do 5k with dino. I certainally hope you are not doing 3k oci's with syn!!

Super Plus is semi-synth, not the best, but most likely better than dino.

It's hard to recommend an OCI for you as many factors come into play, such as your driving style. You can easily do more than 7.5K with synth, I just do 7.5k for peace of mind.

But to answer your initial question, you can easily wait till 09/09 do get your oil changed. But what oil is included in the special deal? Is it just labor? And you bring your own oil?

1 Wix house oil filter and 5 quarts of 5w-30 syn blend (didn't specify brand)

You don't have to bring your own - I just prefer the Mobil 1

What?? 3 oil changes, oil + filter included. For 40$?? That's cheap!

Yeah, I use either Mobil 1 or Castrol Edge.

Another 500 miles is nothing. People are too caught up with the whole 3k miles interval. Times have changed; cars got better and so did oil. I did 4k OCI on my old 93 Camry and the oil analysis came out great. This was using regular dino oil. On my GS, I use synthetic, but I run it until I hit 8k miles, or a year.

Just wait until 9/9.
