Question Side marker lens replacement?

On my 2GS4, the right front bumper has a small rectangular shape amber color lens that's busted but the bulb inside still works. Do you know whether the lens can be replaced without replacing the whole light unit? It looks like the lens is pretty well secured around the edge of the mounting plate. Any one know? Thanks.

Just replace the whole unit. They're cheap.

The side marker is a one piece unit with the lens and the back. It can be replaced as one piece. You can get a OE replacement many places online or at your local Lexus dealer. You can also get the clear version many places online including eBay.

You can find the DIY instructions for this and many other things on this main 2GS page "sticky" post:

I think he's talking about putting an actual "lense" onto the housing.

Just seen that and edited accordingly. You are too fast for me.

When i front bumper was damaged, i shaved off both side of my lenses for the cleaner look.

In your case, they are cheap, buy a set and youll be happy. Easy install as well.

I did the same thing. Looks really clean without them.

Thumbs up

Thanks guys for the extremely useful link. Apparently the side marker light comes in complete assembly or just the plastic amber lens and the difference in cost is only $2 ($30 vs $28) so I went ahead and got the complete assembly from the dealer. The dealer said replacing just the lens may be more difficult than replacing the whole assembly.

Yep, sometimes it better to replace the entire assembly on certain parts, like in your case.
