Does anyone confidently know the Speaker sizes located in the front doors. I called 2 Lexus dealers and they have no clue. Really??
I have searched the forums and i am getting 4" and others have said 6.5". I was planning on pulling the trigger on some CDT 6.5" components but am now confused as i might get the wrong size.

This site states it's 6.5" speakers (http://www.metraonline.com/vfg) Crutchfield states its 4"... Now I'm really confused.

Also if it is 4" anyone know of a good adapter for this.

They are 4", but most people make a plate/baffle and put 6.5" in there. The OEM speakers have some nice big pods that they are in in the door.

 

Does it require any cutting to make room in the door?

How about '01-'05 ....Mark Levinson. I know they are SIMILAR, but can somebody please just post on here the SPEAKER SIZE/SPECS, for replacing all of the ML speakers! (except maybe the BOGUS center channel speaker, on the dash)

Get off your tush, do some searching, and find the data for yourself in this forum. You've been given every bit of guidance to do just that.

 

(I'm not the OP...fyi) But, yeah the only link on CL that I got took me to info about the '98-'00 Nak system specs... I need to know what the Mark Levinson speaker size is, in the FRONT DOOR, only. (rears are 4")

 

has it occurred to you, to TAKE THE DOOR PANEL OFF AND MEASURE THEM?

 

ML are 6.5fronts 4rears. Make mdf adapters/baffles, old plastic will rattle.

I will do that... yep. Might even run 5 and 1/4" components- whatever the better deal is.

PS- Sakataj- I ordered a nice (used) front center channel speaker... ha, what should I DO with that situation, anyway. I can't run the OEM ML (3"?) front center channel speaker off an aftermarket amp, can I ?

Do you have any recommendations for what to use to replace the front center channel speaker with aftermarket? How did that Diamond Audio speaker or whatever that you used work ? (I think you said you just ending up disconnecting it though...it blew- AGAIN, right?)

i dont remember since its been a few years but i dont think my fronts were 6.5" maybe they were though as they used my existing ML housing to make the adapters. i HAVE 6.5" in their now but i dont think the OEM's were 6.5" but again i dont remember its been awhile

im busy to man, i work 2 jobs 5-6 days a week about 16 hours a day but i make a few minutes for stuff i need to do. BTW it would have taken you less time to do that than waiting 2-3 weeks on a answer that YOU dont know for sure is correct, im not saying its not, im saying you dont know if it is or not...lol PLUS your gonna have to take them off anyways to install them so do it to the passenger door, MEASURE IT, order them, and then install.

without a separate processor that center speaker is worthless. i did indeed disconnect and unmount my diamond center speaker after a few weeks. it sounded terrible
