Default New Lexus with problems

Hello I am new to the forum i just bought a 2000 gs 300 from my friend he gave me a really crazy deal on it so i couldnt turn it down. There is a catch though. The car was running perfectly fine until he wanted to install a double dinn in the dash. He says he thinks a wire touched metal and there is a shorted out wire because now the battery wont charge so the car will only run for about 20 min. It has a brand new alternator so that problem is eliminated. Also several other electronics have stopped working since such as the power windows and power seats. I was just wondering if anyone has any idea what could be wrong at all my friend i bought it from was pretty vauge when telling me how it happened so he thinks its because part of the sterio is wired to the ignition or something. I just need some help please. Thanks you.

Yes none of them are blown they all seem to be in tact. Any other things you can think of?

Ok thank you very much i will look into all of that. The thing that really bothers me is that it has a brand new alternator in it and the battery is still not charging. That just sounds so strange to me where is all the power going?
Does anyone know where i can a wiring diagram for the car that would help out alot because there are tons of wires with all of the heated seats and sterio wiring. Its had screens in the headrests installed to its confusing looking at all this wiring. Thank you to everyone.

I still cant figure this out the alternator is brand new and all the charging system fuses are good. Is there something i am missing. Maybe i just got unlucky and bought a alternator that was faulty. Where is all the power going to? This is so crazy i have never had this much trouble.

Sounds like a fuse somewhere. I would double check them.

The alternator must not be sensing a field. Have the alternator tested on the car with all accessories running. I had this problem on my truck. It ended up being a bad voltage regulator.
