Camshaft Timing Tube Assy
Hey Guys,
So let me tell a little history, its a 98 GS400
I was having oil leaks from my cam seals. I took it to my mechanic and he is telling me that i also need to replace the seals around the Camshaft Timing Tube Assy.
When i look on:
http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-cat...S400-1998.html
It shows a red one and a green one, whats the difference?
Also when he showed me the part it did look like it had some seals around it. Is it possible to buy these separately without having to buy the whole assy? if so, got a link or a part number?
Please let me know, i live down here in Puerto Rico and don't speak any Spanish, so my help is limited and my car has been down for 2 months!! =-(

I know this is old, but this is all that came up on my search.
But I need to get a Camshaft TIming Tube assy for my 98 GS400 and on Sewell it gives the option of being red or green. I called them and they ran my VIN and he said it still gave the two options. Is there any way to tell without taking the cover off? Is there a difference in the two?

I took it to a buddy, a tech at the dealer, and he said that is why my CEL is on, and that I need to buy the Camshaft Timing Tube. I have codes P1349 & P0300
I think our CL discount is better than his employee discount. but per Sewell's website there is a green one and a red one, my buddy was also unaware of there being two different ones.

Not to doubt your tech friend, the timing tube will not cause this code; he maybe referring to the VVT-i Oil Control Valve that controls the intake VVT-i cam timing.
Your other code is a random misfire which could be a side effect of intake timing being off.
Good luck and hope this helps
