I have a tanabe mt on my car and it is very quiet and absolutely no drone. It is the catback as well. Has a lower tone than stock and can really only be heard at wot, and even then i would not call it loud at all.

Remove the catback... Just use the muffler.

What are the advantages of doing that? Is it better performance wise? or does it just get louder?

Doing axle back only will make it less loud.
