Default Gs430 vs Gs300 price difference.

I'm in the market for Lexus Gs, 01 and up and budget is around 9-10k. I saw many Gs300 for that price but almost no gs430. My question is, how realistic is it to get 430 for this kind of money, car shouldn't have more than 120k miles.

P.S I used to have 98 gs400 and it was great car, and I think I will regret a lot if I get 300 instead of 430...

Nothing costs more than regret. Get the V8 car.

Exclude 300's from your search. Buy it once, buy it right. For a GS430 like you described look at spending about 11-12k depending on where you buy it. Obviously you could get a deal for cheaper if you look.

BTW how'd you like the 540i compared to the GS4?

I bought a 98 GS300 with 71k miles in IMMACULATE condition for 8900$. Sure I was looking for a gs430, but I say if you can find a gs3 in the condition and shape in which I found mine, go for it. All scheduled maintenance was performed on it too at lexus. Although having come from a 01 Mustang GT, then trading off my 00 WS6 Trans Am, I filled my speed urge and was more or less looking for a cruiser.

If you have had the gs400 then you will not like the gs3 at all unless power doesnt matter but if it does always go by your instinct. V8 all the way. Just hearing the v8 start up when it has a free flowing exhaust and then letting her rip every once in awhile is totally worth it and is something I never had with a sc300 or felt with the gs300. GL

So it's realistic to get 430 for this kind of money?

Be patient and wait for 'your car'

Also gas should hit $5 a gallon this summer; this will affect price

I'd also look at cherry GS400s; nothing like a wire throttle

Going to be sooner than that. I won't be surprised if we hit Mid 5's sometime this summer.

Having had the 400 you will probably be happier with the 430..

I've had a 300, and 430 and now i'm back in a 300..

Honestly i don't mind the 300, having a GGP on black sport design was more important to me then the v8, of course i plan on boosting it down the road but picking up my supra kinda stalled that for a bit..

The thing i most miss about the 3uz is just the sound, I honestly think the 2jz has more then enough power to get around town in and highway speeds it accelerates fine for passing as well.. WOT is really the only time i notice a difference between the two....

If i remember correclty you had a couple SC400's so you probably should stick with the v8 if that's what your comfy with..

i've had about 6 cars with 2JZ's and one 1JZ, they are easier to work on and just make me feel warm and fuzzy knowing they are under the hood lol.. but i did love my 3UZFE too..

It's possible to get a GS430.. Here's an example what's being offered in houston now..

http://houston.craigslist.org/ctd/2216322825.html

But if u can add up a couple more grands, you might get a better car. For me, 01+ car with over 110k is a lil high milleage. and since gas price is getting crazy lately, you might as well take the gs430 since it has better mpg..
