Default Seat frame question

So I'm working on installing my new to me, black leather seats for my swap. Come to find out, my passenger side seat has a broken gear for the outboard slider gear. When power is applied to slide seat back and forth only the inboard/left side adjusts, and the seat kind of swivels, and won't actually slide equally.

I've determined that the plastic housing the motor shaft goes into is broken, shipped to me that way. So here's my question. What's the best way to fix it? I initially thought I'd just swap out plastic housings from one of my old tan seats, but after looking more deeply, it looks like that's no trivial task.

I was thinking about just removing the cushions from the frames from one old tan seat, and replacing the newer black seat cushions on to the old frame (that works).

Anyone have any other ideas? I've got the thing broke down pretty good on my living room floor. You can imagine how "displeased" the wife is with the mess. So I'm kind of in a bit of a hurry.

Anyone?

micheal....i understand whats going on but might be easier to post a pic for US to see and see if we see something on BOTH the seats. i would think (again without seeing it) that the easiest way to go would be to transfer the old gears over if possible, trivial or not

Well I got the motor out last night, but it's not the motor that's broke. It's where the shaft goes into the seat track housing (the plastic is broke completely off). I can post some pics tonight. I took the cushions off the frame of the new seat, but if the consensus is that the frame can be saved, I'd be game. I'm dreading having to break down the old passenger seat just so I can canibalize the frame since it still works, not to mention the time and effort to get the new black cushions back onto the frame.

Now I can see why dealerships don't bother with fixing busted frames, and just order whole seats. The labor costs make it prohibitively expensive.

Try and get pics up tonight. I wonder if anyone has been in this dilemma before. I hate being the guinea pig when it comes to fixing stuff!!
