Default Odometer Problem - MPH and Mileage not moving

Hi guys

Just yesterday my MPH gauge is not responding. RPM and Fuel level gauges are fine. Its stuck on zero. I hit my dash a couple time to unstick it if it was stuck, nada. I then noticed that My mileage is not being counted. I have driven about 15 miles and none of it is registering on Trip A B or C.

Any ideas? I have searched but came to a couple dead ends with no real answer.

Thanks in advance

My cluster froze when my batt was dying on me once, i put a new batt and it went away. It froze on a weak batt on start up. try disconnecting your Neg terminal waiting a few minutes and connect it back.

Possibly a cluster issue? Ive seen several other cars with cluster problems, however never on these cars

I remember that banging the top of the cluster would do the trick on my old SC.

Probably a cluster fuse.

Cluster issue. Spedometer cable is broken so its not moving nor clocking miles.

Hmm ill try to check any of the fuses, problem is im a noob at this. Ill try to search up.

as far as possible cluster replacement, does this mean that if i do get a new cluster i could have one that reads 180k instead of my 120k?

sucks >.<

I think i have to go through the dealership for something like that so the record will be legit right?

i have a spare cluster..... shocker right?

just been sitting at my work waiting on me to find the desire to open it to try and do something upgraded to the lighting

might if you cant find a solution work something out with you to "borrow" it to see if this is your issue

Update

Went to Clear Choice, Lexus specialty shop today here in Houston. They tinkered a bit with my speed sensor and now its working fine. Something about it not communicating properly with the cluster They quoted me $700 to replace the speed sensor (GLAWD) but its ok so no need.

Will see how it holds up. Thanks for the replies everyone!

Cluster issues are synonymous with power and some other alternatives such as - bad cluster, speed sensor (which if i'm mistaken; our gs doesn't have a true speed sensor), also the ABS sensors can play a huge factor, and last but not least fuses.

My car had the same issue; one day driving home from work the speedo just stopped -- right in front of my house. Literally as I was pulling up my driveway. It just so happened that the ABS sensor got tugged on while replacing some suspension parts and the wires inside the ABS sensors had broken.

Theres a fix on here; but I didnt bother with fixing it; I just bought a pair from Sewell -- $200 a pop. Fixed my issue and have never had a problem since.
