Default This is it....

Guys, this is it. Apparently I have the green light and tomorrow I will begin the "buying process." Although with my work schedule it will have to be a small bite size pieces unless I can manage a day off this week before my day off late in the week. The salesman at the dealership has been great and has answered all my questions very well. And he's never done the pressure deal either....

Here's the deal I'm looking at:

2002 GS430 with Nav/ML, Moonroof, heated front seats, 17's, and rear spoiler.. and installed L TUned Springs/Shocks and purchase steering ECU.

Figure about 51,000 (maybe a tad more). The sticking point will likley be the wheels.. I think all they can find are "chrome" 17's and I wanted the alloys... maybe we'll look harder =)

Do you guys think doing a deal "over the phone" will work? Or if I go down to the dealership how long do you think it will take to work out the deal?

Anyways, I hope to be driving a new Lexus by this coming weekend.

Any final suggestions as I head off to the bank? I have cleaned out the bimmer, although she needs a bit of a wash though not too bad (I detailed the inside this weeekend.. smells and looks new).

Thanks in advance for all your help guys...

Pete

(future) 2002 GS430 Black Onyx/Black Leather interior/DVD NAV/ ML/ heated front seats/chrome OEM 17's/rear spoiler/L-Tuned Shocks & Springs/ L-Tuned Steering ECU

You're gonna love the GS430! Um, working all of the papers over the phone is really confusing. I had to do that with the GS and it was the biggest pain ever (actually my dad had to). Luckily, it was a family friend.

I like the whole dealer thing. Being able to talk to the salesman about your new car and establishing a relationship with the dealer is pretty fun. Just go down there and have some fun!

You should have no problem getting the wheels you want. The chrome 17s are an upcharge. I wanted 17s on the 99 CPO GS400 I just got and I pick mine up this week...we worked it into the deal...think I paid 1500 or so for the new wheels and tires...don't walk out of there without them doing the whole deal...

Lexus is only shipping the 430 with chrome wheels right now. If you want the satin finish, the dealership will have to work some magic for you, but don't expect to "save" the extra amount you'll already have paid for the chrome ones. One way to go is to ask for the L-Tuned wheels...

GS 430's have an 8g mark-up and dealer cost on stock chrome
17's is $800.00. I know, I work for Lexus. Hope it helps. Take care, Mike D.
