Default AME Offset Questions

Just throwing this out there, although I think I know the answer. I picked up this set of AME CX's yesterday and the owner was selling it for his friend. He unfortunately didn't know the offsets, but I managed to snap a quick pic. I know most other wheels show the wheel width's, offsets, and disk on a sticker, but the only markings I could find that made sense were etched into the wheel. Just wanted to confirm that this number is in fact the offsets (please see pics)? If so, the wheels are 19x9 +18 fronts and 19x10 +12 in the back, with a sweet 5 inches of lippage. I absolutely love these wheels and had them on my wife's 2IS a few years back. When they popped up for sale locally, I had to get them again. Any idea of how I can find out the type of disc? They were off a G35 if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance, Brandon

I hear you, but at the same time, I definitely can't blame the seller, since he was just getting rid of the wheels for his friend.

I'll definitely throw up some pics when I get them installed, however I think I'm going to need to change tire sizes before throwing them on. Since they came off a G, the previous owner was running a 245/35 and 275/30/19, and I already rub with those same tire sizes, and my current set up is only 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 +20. Effectively, I'll be 8mm farther out in the front and 14mm in the rear. That being said, I also may need to step up my game and switch to coilovers at the same time to get a little more aggressive stance to match the wheels.

and see because of your offset is so low compared to stock is the reason for rubbing, You may have seen in other threads that i run a fat tire set up 295/30/19 and I dont rub at all with a +30 19x10 rim and the tire for lack of a better term sits almost hella flush with out crazy camber and I get really good tire wear. But I want to see you get these on so get to pulling and shaving lol im watching you. J/K the thread anyways.

I also noticed that there was a "H" and a "L" stamped on the front and rear wheels respectively. You think from looking at these pics that means the front is a High disk and the rear is a Low Disk?

Actually my rears are not the area that I'm as concerned about. I already had my rear quarters shaved and pulled, so I think with a mild stretch I should be ok. I ran a 20x10.5 +25 with 275/30 and they pretty much cleared with no rubbing (most of the time). Although with my new 19x10 +12 wheel set up, the wheel/tire will still sit 7mm farther out.

Any of you aggressive fitment gangsters care to speculate what would be the widest tire I could squeeze in the back? I'm not a huge fan of stretched tires, so I want to try and get away with the biggest tire possible. I'm thinking I want to try a 255/35, or even a 265/30. Can?

Anybody have an idea what size tire I should run? Of course a 255/35/19 would be safer, but I was hoping to possible squeeze the 265/30. Do you think it's possible?

Fronts are high disk, rears are low disk. You can run a fat tire if you want but you'll have to do body work to fit them. Easiest way would be to shave the fenders and run a stretched tire.

Thanks for the input Chrispy. When you say fat tire set up would that be referring to the 265/30, so I should opt for the 255/35/19? My rears are already shaved with a slight pull.

How low is your car? I had 19x10 +13 in the rear before and I had a 235 on the wheel. I could've probably gotten away with a 245 maybe. Not sure if a 255 would work but it depends on the brand of the tire as well. 255/35 and 265/30 is very similar. Wheel fitment is a lot of trial and error.

Now my 19x10 +13 is in the front with a 225/35/19 on it now.

Currently, my car is not that low.......definitely no where near as low as yours. It's got a decent drop with Tein Stechs, Bilstein HD's, and Sage front and rear RCA's. Haha, these wheels just upped the ante, so I may need to step up to coilovers though.

In any case, I already have a brand new, full set of Falken Fk452's 235/35/19 and 245/35/19's, but I was just wanting to try and go wider. I wonder if it would just be easier to throw the 245's on there and call it a day. Lol, maybe I'm just asking for trouble wanting to squeeze the 255's or 265's on there. Here's a pic of my car's stance and the current wheel set up. These wheels are 19x8.5 +20 and 19x9.5 +20, with 245/35 and 275/30's. Of curse with these specs and ride height, absolutely zero rubbing in the rear. My front's on the other hand do rub the liner and fender when coming into drive ways and while hitting dips and bumps in the road.

***Don't mind the car, it's dirty as all hell.

Haha, don't remind me! I had GOOD FUN when I had my WRX wagon squeezing 18x10's on there with just 255/35's.

Here's a couple pics of test fitting the wheels.
