I tried some searches for this topic and couldn't seem to find anything. So my question is, what are you guys using to paint over the exposed metal on your shaved fenders to prevent rusting in the fender?
Some people have told me to just use any paint, but im curious if anyone has used something different/better to protect from rust?
i was wondering bout this too, but if you have very minimal clearance and still rub occasionally wouldn't it just rub off the paint making it exposed again?
I didnt actually shave my fenders but i rolled it and the paint was chipping. I just threw some type of clear nail polish and it hasn't rusted so far!
only problem i see with this, you had a paint chip, but i have a whole strip of metal exposed under my fender that water, dirt, and other things will irritate....
Rust Inhibator would be good as well. It's specificly used for exposed clean metal.
Another question is, do you guys shave the entire lip off the fender? The bodyshop that I had mine done only shaved until the weld spots. They said if they shaved past it, the rear fender could buckle on any large pothole impacts or even railway tracks.
