Wheel/ tire fitment question....
I have a gs400 and I'm lowered on tein cs as far down as they can go. I'm looking at some wheels that are 19x8.5 +30 / 19x9.5 +25. I'm not sure what tire size to go with. I need as much meat as possible because my route to work is riddled with pot holes, but I don't want to worry about rubbing either. Any input would be helpful, thanks in advance!
OEM Sizes
215/60R16 = 26.16 OD
225/55R16 = 25.75 OD
235/45R17 = 25.33 OD
Recommended Sizes
245/35R19 = 25.75 OD
275/30R19 = 25.50 OD
Optional Sizes
255/35R19 = 26.03 OD
285/30R19 = 25.75 OD
275/35R19 = 26.58 OD
This setup in the photo is 245/35 and 275/30

If you had 19x9 and 19x10 I would probably recommend 255/35 and 285/30. But not in your case.

I have 19 inch wheels and wanted to keep some level of comfort and protection so lucky for you, I've done my homework and I'll share

THE ideal sizing for your wheels giving you the most protection and comfort is:
19X8.5 - 235/40-19
19X9.5 - 265/35-19
Tires are limited in this size, you'll only have the Conti Contact 3 or Yokohama Advan Sport to select (I personally don't consider the Bridgestone R050). This would be considered a "fat set-up" and shouldn't rub. If you want to go with a slight stretch with as much comfort as possible I think a good choice is:
19x8.5 - 225/40-19
19X9.5 - 255/35-19
IMHO, I think this is perfect! A little style, great protection, and great tire options. I borrowed a picture from GSing430 to show an example of this set-up.
Next up:
19X8.5 - 245/35-19
19X9.5 - 275/30-19
This will rub but will keep you almost 100% in spec.
Then
19X8.5 - 235/35-19 (or smaller)
19X9.8 - 265/30-19 (or smaller)
This really is a law of diminishing returns. Yes they'll look great but if you're after protection and style, IMO, this isn't the direction to go.
Hope that helps.

^^ No argument here. I was just looking for the widest setup within spec. and shorter based on his car being set at the lowest setting. 225/40 and 255/35 should be my next choice if you wanted a little more narrow tire.
at 295/30/19 with a 19x10 +30 rimI had to cut inner lip off rears but it doesnt rub and I didnt do any pull. I also sit pretty low and deal with a bumpy road in a slow manner everyday but its worth the look. Im running 235/35/19 of front on a 19x8.5 +34 and its close to flush other than the camber really. I have pics posted on forum just look through my posts. heres the rear.
