Default 99 gs300 stereo problem ..

new to the site sorry i know u guys have seen this post a thousand times but i still havnt found a straight answer anywhere . so my factory headunit is shot.. so i buy a new headunit only to find out there is not such thing as a wiring harness for a gs300. i was told its basically a total rewire job and i have to buy all new speakers amp and sub for everything to work due to the fact that i will bypass the factory amp and sub. local audio store suggests. so what ALL to i need to make this work and the process thanks for the help

U can use a harness from an 87-up Toyota but you have to remove the wires and re-arrange them a bit.

Some people even used another set of these harness to by-pass the amp and feed the speakers. This is with the Pioneer setup, don't know if others are different.

is the head unit bad, or the computer in the trunk that runs all that crap up front? i had water spill in the trunk (didnt know for a few days) an everything started dying. found the prob, unplugged the battery, dried i all the electrical plugs back there, and back to norm.

fastryan. actually the guy i bought it from had it rigged to hell and back. he had a 6 disk changer in the trunk, which was not hooked up had no purpose there. the glove box was missing the 6 disk stock changer out of it. it was a mess so i have no working cd player. so i figure ill just buy an aftermarket head unit. so thats when the can of worms opened with all the wiring and all this fun stuff i have to figure out how to make right.
