Default Magnaflow's installed....w/???

Recently I bought/installed Magnaflow 14829’s on my 98 GS4. For those others who have them as well, how much if any did the sound change for you over time? I was also considering an x-pipe as well, I was wondering if anyone had the x-pipe done after getting the mufflers done, and what your impressions were.

I have to say, I like the look, and I like to tone of the Magnaflows, but they are not quite loud enough for my taste. At lower RPM the y are just fine, as my car gets to the 4K RPM range or so, they sound about like stock.

Get rid of the resonators, it should definitely help.

I had thought about it, but I wanted to see what time/x-pipe would do. Anyone have a similar set up without resonators? Thanks DK-

I've got the same ones on mine. I was thinkin of removing the center cat, but I believe the GS400 has a center resonator? Either or, it still sounds nice, but a tad stock'ish.

Resonators aren't removed? Those cans are still under the car : /.....I wanted to have em yanked, but never went through with them, cause I figured it would've been TOO loud.

Btw, E. Make a thread about your new ride, and if it has saddle interior you know what must be done .

I've got those exact mufflers on my car with the resonators removed. Definitely take out those resonators and you'd love the difference. I was driving around with only new magnaflow mufflers and i didn't like how quiet it sounded. But i replaced all three of the resonators with straight pipe and i love how it sounds.

I've got Magnaflows and have really thought about getting the resonators deleted; I'm a little worried about it being too loud. I like to be able to maintain the low profile when desired. How much louder would you guys say it was after deleting the resonators?

To the OP, mine did seem to get a bit louder and deeper with time.

Go for it man! Get them deleted. It definately isn't too loud at all. But it definitely makes a difference.

I have those mufflers w/2.5" catback w/x-pipe. my personal taste, not loud enough. i heard the x-pipe lowers the sound or you can try the H-pipe

I got em, didn't make much of a difference. But I can tell. I can especially here it at around 2k RPM. Any higher and the engine is louder than the exhaust
