Default ABS and brake light on. help.

1999 gs300. so i start my car and try to roll down my windows.. windows dont work. then i realize ABS and brake light on dash is on and i cant get out of gear from park. so i check some fuses and everything is ok. brake lights work. brake fluid ok.
later on in the day i check again and all problems are gone.

what could be the issue???

any help appreciated. thanks.

check quick/easy stuff first....loose battery cables, low battery charge, possible abs wheel speed sensor etc

Won't hurt to get your alternator checked out.

i just replaced the alternator a few months ago actually.

ive searched around the forums, but i dont think ive found a true solution. and the real odd thing was the windows not goin down. i checked fuses and everything checks out.. i just dont want this same thing to happen to me when im not home and create a huge hassle.

no its just the brake and abs light.. when everything was ok, i was driving around for a few days with no problems.. and then the vsc vsc off lights came on.. got home, restarted the car and then the brake and abs lights came back on.

Make it easy on yourself. Find someone to scan it for codes.

Had a similar problem like this. Is there a eternal warning beep with the ABS and brake light? Mine had that for about 30 minutes. Than it went away. Then my entire master cylinder failed and I had no braking power. After replacing the master cylinder it went away.

This, always scan for codes. Otherwise it's a wild goose chase.
