rotten egg smell

Default rotten egg smell

help....
my gs is having this foul smell like rotten eggs or as if someone opened a hard boiled egg in my car. car has 160k stock any input? dont want to take it in the dealership blindsided...thanks guys

Rotten egg can also be sign of sulfur...bad or swelling battery.

I've had the rotten egg smell... but intermittently... now i have no cats... don't go replacing the cat until you get a code for a bad cat.. po420 i believe..

and if it is your battery.. wear some goggles when handling it.. i've seen batteries spray..

it can also be that you're running rich and an o2 sensor is on its way out..

Ive smelled both cats, and batteries that smell like rotten eggs.

now to think about i recently tried to recharge my battery after i put my system in, started to take 3sec to start the car.....ill change the battery first since its the least expensive. thx

you can always visually inspect it for leaks and have it tested at autozone to see if its still good.. no need to just go throwing money away!
