Default rev limiter how does it work?

how does the rev limiter work?? if i floor the car with ect power on, will the car automatically change gears for me at redline?? is that the fastest way to launch? when you're on M (automanual) will the rev limiter do anything at all?? also does ect do anything when on M?

I'm pretty sure it cuts the ignition, if you try to run it past redline in any gear it will just sound like its trying to die at about 7k. In my Supra it was much faster down the 1/4 if I shifted manually, but it seems like it doesn't help the lexus too much if at all as opposed to PWR mode.

pwr will make your car shift at higher RPM. if you want to have the best launch try turning power on. and over drive off. AC off. and at a full stop one foot on the break and other foot on the gas. and try to hold it around 2000 rpm. as soon at it goes green floor it and let go of the breaks. and watch your rear wheel spin. i could do this in my first gen GS. i could also do donuts in my first gen gs which is also very fun. and my engine is bone stizock.

to do a donut go forward in a empty lot to about 15 mph and just turn the wheel really sharp right and tap the gas peddle.
