Default Steering wheel Adjustment Motor out?

Hey guys,

When I turn on my car the steering wheel doesnt go down to riving position. It will go forward and back, just not up and down. Is it a motor I can buy? Easy install? Anyone had this problem?

VERY common problem. Just search "steering wheel motor" or something to that effect and you'll get a TON of threads to search.

I changed mine out with a used one about a month ago. Takes less than an hour to do the whole job. The brushes on the original were pretty much worn out. The used one has probably about 60% wear. Probably good for another four or five years.

My suggestion and I've posted this several times in other threads, have a dealer turn off the auto tilt-away function before it's too late.. sooner or later it will break!
If already broken, replace the motor (not a cheap or easy fix!) and turn the auto function off right away!
Just my $0.02.

Mine started to retract slowly so I figured it was going to die within a year or two. I disconnected the ECU for it right away. It's a useless feature to me anyways. Doesn't sound that luxurious when you have a motor screaming at you
