Default Quick CEL question

I was on my way to work this morning and got a CEL which I did not get a chance to check the codes since im still stuck at work... only thing I recently did was change the transmission fluid (2 bottles) & engine oil (5qt jug). I checked the dip stick for the transmission fluid and it was sitting at the COLD mark. The drive is a good 25 mins away so shouldnt it be above or near the HOT area from what i remember? and would it throw a CEL if I was low on transmission fluid? I wont get out of work till after 7pm would mixing toyota type iv and amsoil be a problem since I can pick it up at a near by autozone to bring it back up to mark. Thanks.
