Default FML help please

So I just got home from the liberty black event and my luck the chrome trunk bar I ordered like a week ago arrived while I was at the show.. OH well.
So I go install it and I close the trunk to admire it and I forget the keys inside the trunk.. My car is locked and thats my only key... Thats not the only problem the previous owner did something to disable the manual unlock for the trunk. So the only way of unlocking is with the key or popping it from the remote.. Im screwed what can I do.. Good thing is that its at my house so I am in no rush..

call a tow truck, or AAA if you have a membership, and they'll get it open for you.

Go to the dealer and have them make you a spare valet or the credit card key. Judging by this event, you'll probably want one anyway

you can have a new key cut via vin number for $30, shipped from Miami, according to a recent thread..... obviously you need one....

or...

don't these cars have a trunk pass-thru behind the rear armrest? hell, I can't remember and my wife has my car right now... if so, send your little nephew thru it and retrieve the keys.... or rig up a coathanger contraption to get em'....

to fix the manual release. when get your master key back there is a key lock located on the lower dash around the trunk release lever that disables it. you need to use your key to re-enable it. the purpose of disabling it is for security from valet attendants. oh yeah might not be much to get a key cut since you don't need to reprogram it, you just need a cut blade. don't get a valet key, it won't work. that's the purpose of the interior lock. the master key controls the interior lock, you give the valet you valet key to park your car. then the valet key can't open the trunk nor can the release lever, so you put your valuables in the trunk. good luck

^^^yeah that will work...you can get access to the trunk after the rear seat back is removed. There is some bracing behind it so I doubt you will be able to get your body back in the trunk but you should be able to reach in there or rig up something that will help you reach your keys! Good luck!!

you will need

12mm & 14mm sockets

first you lift the seat. put some force, its just a clip on. one on each side.

u will see 12mm bolts holding the back seat two or three at the bottom (cant recall) and two at top. located behind the head rests, just lift the velcro flap, youll see them.

the seat belt is held by the 14mm bolts, take them off, for easy access. at this point the seat should come out. take off X bar and depending on access and where the keys are you may be able to squeeze an arm in there by folding down the carpet cover, if not you will need to undo the staples or cut the carpet.

good luck
