if you put in the 10" sub do you have to modify anything? or does a 10" sub would fit perfectly into the stock area?

Drill holes and bolt her down! Pictures of your installation are always nice!

What HU are you using?

For those who put the 10" sub on the stock location (with or without an amp)....Do you have aftermarket head unit?

Second questions...I have a '01 GS430 with nav and really really really miss my MP3 songs...Is there a way to keep the stock nav and replace the radio with aftermarket MP3 player??? I just love to have a way to play MP3 songs, but somehow keep the nav system...is it even possible????

Thanks...if I do it, it'll be the easy way...No way I can do what you did :~)....

So if I understand it right, I can just buy the integration kit and hook it up to my existing nav system and that's it? Once it's done I'll have the cable that connect from the nav system to the ipod/iphone/itouch device? No need to modify, customize anything? I'd like everything stock if at all possible...

You don't really need a freeair IB sub. IB setup is technically a large sealed box. I'm getting rid of my huge box as well. I'll probably go with a nice 12" up there powered by my 500/1

Build a bandpass port through sub box. All your bass is in the car.

I was able to fit a 12" Image Dynamics IDQ12v2 in the stock location and it sounds great. It gets plenty loud and the extension is nice.

I wished I taken pictures of the actual install.

What I recommend is to make a baffle and mount it underneath the sub. The metal on the rear deck is very thin and a baffle will help stiffen it. I mounted the baffle to the car using the stock subwoofers threaded holes and used a gasket and silicone in between the car and baffle.

I used 3/4" Baltic Birch but MDF is fine. Look up elemental designs. They actually sell a baffle there if you do not have the tools to make it. You should also consider dampening the car using Dynamat, Raamat, etc.
