I am encountering the same problem that I have ready about is several posts. Unfortunately I can’t find a resolution. The problem is with the driver’s window in my 2001 GS300. The window first went half way up when I tried to close it. It then fully opened. Per posts that I have come across I replaced the window regulator with motor assembly. I then replaced the switch panel.
When I put in the new regulator it was in the full open position. I was able to move the regulator down to a position I could mount the glass by using the switch. Once the glass was attached I tried to close the window. The window once again opened and will not move up.
At that point I thought it might the switch. After replacing the switch the window still will not go up.
I am now able to get the window up after replacing the door computer. Still have a probelem. When I lift the switch for auto up the window hits the top and goes half way down. I can get the window closed by pulling the switch up a little at a time.
Last year I found a topic on resetting the window in the GS300. I am now able to find the same procedures. Anybody know how to reset the window?
The window motor needs to be clocked. To fix it, the motor must be removed from the regulator, then the switch plugged back in. Hit the down button, and let the motor turn until it stops, then bump it back up until the gear has made six full turns. From there, just reinstall the window motor, and you'll be good to go.
