Replaced right rear passenger window motor & regulator. Now when you try to close the window, it goes up to the closed position and returns to the fully open position. Sometimes you can get the window to close, if you just bump the switch numerous times until it gets to the closed position

It sounds to me like the pinch detection switch is out of adjustment. If the switch detects an obstruction while the window is going up, it stops and goes back down. It has to be there if the window can do the "auto up" feature. Complicated system, which is why Lexus puts it on all their windows but the Toyota model will typically only have it on the driver's window.

Not sure how to fix that.

 

Any idea the location of the pinch detection switch?
