From my observations, it was worth the $$$ and I would recommend it to others in a heartbeat. Just my 2 cents....
I have come to believe that my car's been modded by a previous owner and that I have the L-Tuned steering ECU. How should I go about checking this?

Thanks in advance guys!

Yes, I know the differences as in the feeling of the actual steering, but is there anything I can visually check on the car? Like, would it say it if I were to locate it?

The molded in part number of the stock and L-Tuned ECUs is the same, but there's some diff. 'stamped on' ink numbers/letters on the ECU that I think should be diff, stock and L-Tuned. I didn't write down the ones on my L-Tuned one, but I have my stock one still. There's a thread about this in here somewhere... not sure if we ended up getting the two sets of numbers.

Still, it's a pain in the *** to take out the ECU just to make sure it's L-Tuned - it would be simpler to drive a car without it... it should be obvious if it's the same or not.

Default L-Tuned and GS430 steering ECUs are NOT the same...

My friend Marty (RealMarty) and I did before and after tests on his 430 without sharing our thoughts either way. Once it was over, we were in complete agreement that the two ECUs are different.

How wasted were you? Everything seems funnier then. But hope your laughing didn't wake up the folks!

Okay, I just drove my friend's mom's 2000 GS300 (completely stock) and the steering on mine definitely feels MUCH tighter! I've pretty much concluded that my previous owner probably put the L-Tuned steering ECU. Weird. I got a mod on my car that I didn't know about until now. I just always thought the steering was supposed to be this tight. Wow.

Sorry Alexus. Anyways I installed the ECU in my stock with 17''s and I saw a preety dramatic change in control during more aggresive driving , highway driving, and loss of that "deadspot". Cant beat for $130 especially if you dont wanna mess with the suspension.
