Interesting. The only thing I know is that I have never burned a set of PIAA bulbs. I have gone through 4 sets of "HID, XENON" look bulbs in the past year. While I do not believe all PIAAs are much brighter, I do believe they last much longer as I have stated. In any case, thanks for the scoop. But like I was saying.. if you just invest a couple of hundered dollars, you won't have to worry about burning out bulbs or if they are brighter or not.
The reason why I recommend Koito's is because they are the OEM manufacturer for Lexus/Toyota for their headlights (for the most part). I have seen the WhiteBeams in a SC and they look VERY nice. I was going to do those before I decided "screw it" and just went all the way with HID's (can't say that I regret it!)
Anyways, you can contact Steve by either calling him at 800-90-TOYOTA or just PM him here...his username is SUPRATRD.
Well they are an OEM manufacturer but these bulbs are NOT used for OEM purposes (cost too much for OEM)...
The light from those bulbs (and most other "wannabe HID" bulbs) is that the COLOR is usually close, but the BRIGHTNESS is not even in the same league....HID's are THREE TIMES brighter than any of those Halogens...however, the Whitebeams seem brighter than the OEM Halogens I had in my SC (I compared it to Steve Ganz's SC one night)...but then again, my OEM Halogens were probably the original ones that came with the car...and Halogens get dimmer over time (HID's don't)
