Default Can the steering wheel LEXUS logo be replaced (or fixed up)?

My new (to me) 2001 GS 300 is nearly perfect both mechanically and cosmetically.

But one item is getting to me.
The LEXUS logo on the steering wheel is worn, the ‘chrome’ is worn away in the center and the white plastic is showing.

I called the dealer and asked if it could be replaced, and was told “Yes, but it comes attached to an airbag.”

Needless to say, I didn’t ask how much that costs.

Any suggestions?

I’m open to replacing with a new one (if possible) or refinishing some way.

Thanks ahead of time.

They come attached to the airbag.. I know a member that had one custom fitted to the logo opening..

FYI the ones from ebau do not work.. I tried two different ones from two different sellers..

yeah, the emblem is attached to the airbag...
maybe try glueing some crystals over the emblem? (i don't know if that's your style...) it can be a weekend project...
just a suggestion

Ooooo.. I'm in the exact same situation, car nearly perfect with exception of that damn worn/peeling chrome(white) emblem... Where does one find one of these Chrome Paint Markers (sic)???

well before buying a new logo (if avaialble) has anyone even tried to see if the old emblem is removeable without causing damage to the airbag? Next thing you know *pry*pry*BANG!*

If you're into the VIP styling there a steering emblem from Garson that goes over the original emblem.
