Hi everyone, I am new here and have been searching like a **** but no luck.

I have a 2001 gs430 with a blank nav screen, the touch screen still works but no picture? I assume I need a new screen? not sure.

Can anyone point me in the right direction maybe key words to search.

what did u search with........? oh and BTW a bad ecu will affect the screen. when i unplugged my nav ecu the screen goes off.

 

everything I could think of, I've read all your post about upgrading to a gen4 system which is cool. But I would hate to spend $500 on computer and find out I need a screen. Just thought this would be a very common problem with these?

you could pay a lexus dealership to diagnose just so you know for sure what the problem is. a new screen with your exchange will be about $2k unless you can find a wrecked car with the screen and get it for less.

 

maybe find someone local to see if they would mind swapping your ecu for a sec to find out. i actually replaced both my screen and my ecu (ironically only replaced screen due to lights being out in tape deck and i got the screen and all for like 250 or so from a member on here but through ebay) then sold my old one for EXACTLY what i bought mine for

How do I check to see if there is a disc in the dvd/ecu? Do you think this would cause the screen to be blank?

 

A member AC430 is selling is Navi Screen AND the Navi brain for around 500. I just bought some other stuff from him and he is a great seller and ships really fast.

 

open trunk, remove nav cover, slide black slide open, push button.....

no if there is no cd it will tell you no disc inserted but will still turn on

yeah i figured it was or as i said you woulda gotten that error message on the screen. when you start car or turn key on does the nav ecu in trunk power up?
