I stick with the premo. And ethanol free, if I'm near a station. Around here the price difference between 87 and 93 is anywhere from 20-24 cents/gal. Per ~17gal fill up, that's a $3.4 to 4 difference w/ each fill. Skip two soft drinks at lunch or a starbucks and you've broken even.

 

I'm low octane too. I've never used premium.

 

thats how gas stations get your money. im not suppossed to be giving this info out but when you put anything higher then 87.. your putting in 87. do some gas testing. most gas stations dont have 91, put 10,000 on my old 2000 gs300 never used anything higher then 87. the only problem i had was broken gas guage. doubt it was lower gas grade that did it. now on my 99 400 just put 23k on it since i had it and still never used anything but 87. no problems either.. if you really want to run anything higher then 87 your guna have to do alot more then just press that 91/93 button

 

I experienced a check engine light and found out that it was simply because I hadn't tightened the gas cap enough. Expensive not-smart move on my part.

I've run 87 and Premium...mine doesn't ping at all on either one. I can tell a slight difference in the power, but ONLY if I'm really on it. The milage seems to be slight lower on regular too, and it just happens to be almost enough to offset any difference in price...

You know that is weird. I heard a couple of people say that. But I never had this happen. I even fill up sometimes with the car running. No check engine for this. My bimmer did that though. Weird.
