Im having the same issue, thought it was the leveler, but no. I've ran out of gas twice, it seems to go down a lil past the half mark between the quarter an it doesn't drop below that, so right now I just count the miles an listen for my walbro to start humming. One of my boys that did a swap like mine said it should reset after a month or so. Mine is a VVT-I , but I'm sure its the same issue you're having

me and a buddy were having the same problem but there is a hose on the bottom of the pump plug it back in and the gauge works fine again thats what we did
