You should of done single from the start. You will kick yourself in the ass when the time comes to go single. You will have some real fun trying to pull the stock twins out while the engine is in the car :)

It's doable, but not at the top of my fun list lol...

Hmm you sure you want to go that route? ive heard the true twin conversion is pretty much useless. instead of getting a smooth turbo increase it just waits until higher rpms and gives it all in one big shot. no increase in power. Well thats what ive heard anyway. i could be wrong.

lol. I know. I completely agree with you. I wont be doing the labor once I go single anyway so I really dont care.

You probably heard wrong. True twin will put me in the 450-500 rwhp range on stocks. Ill show you a copy of the dyno once I have it running and tuned.
The turbos are definitely going to wear a lot faster but Im eventually going single anyway.

Since your not using a VVT-i 2JZ, what management are you running?

JeffTsai Nov 29, 2009 06:54 PM

Make sure you're willing to pay to have the single conversion done lol. It's not easy so don't expect it to be cheap. If you have a friend that's doing it for you for free, then tell him I feel sorry for him ;)

Anyways, good luck on the project and keep us updated!

KiPod, you can just slap a standalone on a non-vvti 2JZ.

I know ;) Just wondering since that one guy in PA years ago used the non VVT-i ECU but couldn't get the cluster to work. If you go standalone its all good but if he gets it to work with the non VVT-i ECU and factory gauges it would be sweet because they are much cheaper than the VVT-i 2JZ's.
