Default HID Headlight Assembly Removal

I got curious last night as to how the front headlight assembly is attached to the body. I removed the three top screws and tried to pry the assembly apart from the body but it won't give. I found one plastic wedge insert in the upper corner part to keep the assembly in place but that's not the one holding up the assembly from getting removed.

Short of opening up the plastic undercover in the front chassis to see from the bottom what's keeping the headlight attached, if any, does anyone know if there's a screw that I missed to loosen or I just need to put more force pulling out the assembly?

You must remove the entire front bumper assembly to remove the front headlamp ASSEMBLY.

I did research xsuperjoex posting and he also indicated the need to remove the front bumper assembly - with a caution that it is not for the faint of heart. I wonder if I missed the post that you are referring to.

The front bumper is easy to remove.....just remove all the screws you see...if it doesn't come off, then you missed one...easy

I've taken my headlights out multiple times and you don't have to take your front bumper off. You DO however have to take off certain screws where the front bumper meets the fenders off to loosen create a gap between the two to get some wiggle room and take out the headlight when all the other screws are removed

I have the headlights out, but now i need to know how to take the lens and the housing apart. I know i remember seeing pics on here for a DIY, i cant find it. I need to know what temp to bake at and what all needs to be removed before baking the light.

i just took out my headlights and i did have to remove the front bumper cover. because there is a bolt for the headlights hidden by the front bumper.

the bumper is fairly easy to remove.. take out the bolts you see and then you need to raise your car up and there is bolts behind the splash guard in the fender that need to be removed and then it should come right off..

then its just one bolt for each headlight that needs to be removed from the headlights to remove them
