Default gs tank questions

hey guys, new to the gs scene. anyways i read that the gs's gas tank is like 19.8 gallons

http://www.new-cars.com/2002/lexus/l...fications.html

but whenever i fill up from E it only fills in 15ish gallons.

so whats up with the other 4 gallons? anyone have any ideas?

Lexus is VERY conservative when it comes to the low gas indicator light. Most of the time you have a good couple more gallons to go till you are truly on E. There are a couple threads out there regarding tank size and average mpg. A couple members have driven a good while with the E light on.

Personally, I won't test it.

I have a similar experience when filling up. Don't run it low, i've read it will damage your fuel pump.

when the E light turns on it is saying i have like 30mpg left o.o

I usually don't fill up until the needle hits just above the last marker on the gauge, then I get about 16.5-17 gallons when I fill it up.

unfourtenatly (sp?) i have pushed the E light indicator to about 30-35 miles. dont hate me guys. but i put in $20 and that gets me a haft tank when the light is on. i have not done the math but i would estimate at 7 gals. does that make sence it is $3.00 a gal
