So my rearview mirror just suddenly fell down the other day. as per the pics it looks like the piece was just epoxyed into place and the heat must have broke the seal. I picked up the new pieces from Lexus and the guy had no clue just exactly what pieces I need. you can see the new piece next to the one that was epoxyed and those two lil circlular ***** & the spring. I have no idea how this goes together, does any one have a clue? does it need to be epoxyed?? any help and input would be AWESOME as I am driving around with a swinging rearview
happened to me two years ago. good thing i had some shoe-goo or it might have been amazing goop. anyway, apply it liberaly and let it cure. it'll never come off again unless you really really really really try.
similar. if i recall correctly, the thing that held the bearings broke. i dont know how, but i i was adjusting the mirror and found myself holding it up lol. silicone glue/sealant is the answer.
when i bought mine the mirror wasnt even on. just went to nearest auto parts place bought some rearview mirror glue, glued the tab on (gave it 24 hours to dry, mostly with me driving so heat was on as it was like 12 degrees in ny then) then next day reattached mirror and 2 years l8r its still on
Mine broke a few weeks ago. It was the white piece with the bearing [2] in it that broke. I bought new ones (comes in a pack of two) and fixed most of the problem. The metal housing [1] was broken. The little tab was "worn down". So I replaced that as well. Now my rear view mirror acts like, well, a rear view mirror.

Bumping this up coz my rear view mirror broke off from the windshield and this helped me fixed it. Went O'Reilly's and bought the rear view mirror glue and wahlah, fixed....
i just had this problem where i lose one of those bearings. I just went to the junkyard and broke a mirror of an old LS400 and took the bearing from that mirror because they're the exact same. the hardest part is to get it in the housing. get 2 pilers and guide it the hardware in. I hope this picture helps lolllll
