Default Lights Out

Hey...

Ive used to have one issue but now its two....Shiitttt.. 1st) Ive got HIDs and after a while the passenger side slowly starts to flicker here and there, then happens a lot. So I got a new box unit (or whatever you call it) for that side. A year later it again, same side starts to flicker. Once it got bad, a guy pulled over, thought I was a cop. So thats the first issue, flickering.... 2nd) Before I could fixt the flickering, day before yesterday in the eveing, my lights just cut out. Only my day time run at day time. Even my fogs dont turn on. I even jiggled the wires but no go. The fuse for the HID is good. Is there a different fuse for the lights other then the one for HID. Or could be the wiring (hope not). And why is it always that right side flickering???

The box is called a ballast. Are they mounted securely? If you are only mounting them with one screw or zip ties, the vibration will kill them quickly.

Sounds to me that you need a relay installed, HID ballasts when not provieded enough juice will not be able to startup and cause flickering.

Google search 9006 HID relay. And also look into your electrical system and tap into the wire right before the hid ballast and see what kinda volts its getting.

Would all non-HID 2GS require a relay kit? I got a plug and play kit from ebay and installed it without a relay kit. Power consumption is at 35W, which is lower than the halogen consumption (55W), so I thought it shouldn't be a problem. Is the voltage different from the Halogen setup?
