It's a 4 door sedan, not a convertible.........wind tunnel time is not expended to manage air flow inside the cabin with sunroof/windows open. Doesn't seem any better or worse than my wife's RX or her previous ES.
Guess I'm just old.......I like the silence most of the time (tho today I was driving around with all 5 open). Guess it's just spring........
The car does exhibit poor wind deflection when the rear windows are down. at anything above 50 mpg. I questions the need for the windows in the rear since the car cannot be driven on the highway with them down. Im not speaking of the wind noise, it is the booming sound the cabin experiences.
RX with one window down makes my ears REALLY hurt.
GS is not anywhere near as bad, and I can drive with the roof tilted and one window down comfortably although being old like mooretorque for the most part I prefer peace and quiet (everything shut).
Once in a while though it's nice to drive with a lot of air flowing through the cabin on the highway. Anyone noticed you always feel like you're going faster when the windows are down?
My car is pretty good in my opinion. The biggest problem I have is too much wind in my face or too much blowing on me when I'm on the edge of being too cold. One thing you might want to try is opening the front passenger window, and the window behind you. That way the air will flow through the car in a defined direction. It might look weird, but it works (at least in my car).
i thought i was the only one having problems with this. (you guys always validate me) i found out today that its actually not all that bad when you put all 4 down. with the fronts down only, it is almost unbearable. today with the top open and the windows down, i could enjoy this gorgeous georgia day.
As DrRick said, if one only puts the fronts down, prepare to be blasted by the wind. Putting all 4 down though the car is fine, I guess the aerodynamics of the car make putting the fronts down impossible without being hit by a hurricane.
Open sunroof full.
Bring down passenger side rear window about 1 inch.
Try it sometime - in my car it eliminates that 'pressure' buildup and buffeting, plus it gives the driver's head a nice (but not obtrusive) breeze. Do the opposite rear window (drivers side) if you want wind on the passenger.
My old mustang convert was like that. I lowered the read windows a little and the top stopped going up...when it was down! I think they build them better these days.
My model is the same way, i had a couple of lexus caps chillin on my rear deck but let the back windows down they are flying. i never let them down now, too much wind, too much noise.
