yes it will be bouncy and you risk blowing out your shocks right away. don't do it. buy used shocks if you want a cheap fix

please don't. get coils, air, or aftermarket springs/aftermarket struts. you'll end up payin more in labor and repairs in the long run.

I had stock struts on cut sprint springs slammed to the ground and it's bouncy and looks great, but when you hit a bump it feels like one of your wheels came off

I'm amazed that someone is actually cutting springs and would deal with a bouncy ride on a Lexus

You are already doing all the work to remove the spring if you are going to cut it. Why not buy some used springs to be cost effective and not risk cutting the spring may be unsafe.

Cutting the springs isn't too bad, it really depends on how low you want to go, if it' smore than about an inch or so, you won't be happy, and the ride will suffer, also keep in m ind, you will have to cut the bump stops as well, i fyou don't want that harsh slam, every time you hit a bump.

....as mentioned, you can't argue with the labor side of it, it's actually MORE work to remove, cut and properly reseat the springs, vs. just slapping in some new ones. But sone properly, it isn't horrible. I would say those who run into problems, are trying to go yoo low with it thus bouncy ride, blown shocks etc. It can be done correctly, and be OK, but it is time consuming and it does have it's limits.

But this defeats the purpose of lowering. The 2GS wheel gap needs way more than a one inch drop. Your really wasting your time, and time is money, to bother with cutting an inch, then having to redo the whole thing later again because either its not enough drop, is killing your ride quality, or worse.

There are certain categories of mods to your car than you "maybe" can cut corners with "if you must", but suspension is definitely not one of them, especially with a Lexus. Your buddies and females will sit in your car and be like, "wtf, are your struts blown?" it really kills it.

the way i see it, if you have to resort to cutting springs, you don't have enough money to drop your car properly. thats that. just save some money and ride at stock high longer or find a good deal that is going in the right direction towards a proper drop.

i really dunno what else to say, but in the end, its your car, we're just warning you and trying to give u reasonable notice as to the foreseeable results of doing this.

i've seen it before, and unfortunately, i'm sure CL will see it again.
