Anyways, pics!
The chrome wheels are they the 16's or 17's?
800 id get coilovers, but if your not into low cars than maby some DF's or Dazien springs
Haha, I have a megaphone with a siren I carry in my car so I can mess with friends, the lights sound like a fun idea, too, but I think impersonating a cop probably isn't the most legal thing to do.

First: take the crappy ghetto chrome AutoZone trim off your grill, get paint remover from Home Depot (~$6), and take all the black OEM paint off your grill. There's your chrome grill. You'll thank me when you're done.

Second: you say you have $800...I don't know your financial picture--is that just a start for you or most of you car modding budget for awhile? I'll pick one and say it's most of your modding budget for awhile (that's where I was at 17). So here's what you do...
  • The 2GS classifieds here are your friend. Look there, e-bay, Craigslist, websites, etc. for parts--buy nothing new.
  • I think most people would say tint (you've done), a drop, and wheels are musts. A front lip helps a ton, too.
    • Drop: find used lowering springs, install 'em yourself. Not too hard unless you have very little mechanical aptitude. (~$150-200 shipped)
    • Wheels: find 18"-20" wheels with decent tires in the price range of the remainder of your budget. Lexus and Infiniti stockers are options usually floating around Craigslist or in the classifieds.
  • Start saving for new shocks in spring 2010 (your lowering springs will almost definitely wear 'em out by then), and a front lip.
  • To keep your spirits high during the waiting, look into little unique mods you can do cheaply (urethane bushing swaps, interior lighting, shift ****, brake paint, etc.). Be careful not to get ricey here--remember what you're driving.
Performance-wise, you basically have two options: very mild, or pretty aggressive. You can get an exhaust, intake, etc, and spend a few hundred here and there to get a few (i.e. 20?) extra hp, or you can install a turbo kit, requiring more work, more knowledge, and more cash. Decide what your expectations are now, because if you don't think you're comfortable with those as your only options (I wasn't), now's the time to trade in for a GS400 or GS430.

oh nice new sig abel. i like that sir

op....must be nice having your first car be a NICE,CLASSY car. mine was a hunk of **** . take off the police lights....your asking for MAJOR problems if pulled over and acop sees them or if you have them on messing with friends and a cop sees them on!

my opinion....if maintenance is up to date then mod her (suspension would be my first mod, remember quality here not cheap stuff)....if not spend the 800 on maintenance to keep her around long enough to do stuff to her

welcome to the club though and post some pics man

I'm workin on the pics, prob tomorrow night will be a good time to take some. And could you explain more about the paint remover for the grill? And btw the cop lights are off. The only issue with dropping the car is the fact that I don't OWN it, my dad does, so if he doesn't like the idea of dropping it, I can't do it. Don't get me wrong, I've been wanting to do it, but he will think dropping it will look too ghetto like a low-rider truck. I looked for a CAI but couldn't find anything lower than an SRT intake which was way too expensive, so I've kind'of given up on that. I was thinking exhaust tips might be a nice appearance mod, and maybe a chrome trunk-panel to replace the stock one above the license plate.

If you cant mod suspesion or performance, go audio! That way you and your freinds can enjoy.

As for the grille, buy some paint remover and spray all over the grille, let sit for a few minutes and then wipe off/hose off the paint. It's all chrome underneath.

welcome, there are some really good suggestions on this thread for you , spend a lil time and look -up alot of the other threads, you will learn alot.. BALL-JOINT!.. ask your pops when he had his ride serviced and if they replaced the ball-joints, GS's are known for weak ones you dont wanna be stranded with a group of your friends
