Need Car Show experts
Finally entered my car into a USACI extreme car show this weekend. Their was only one judge for 50 cars, is this normal? I registered into full size import class with prob 15 other full size and the audi wagon next to me with slight mods registered into mid size import. At the awards i got second place and the audi got first place in my class. The judge said i had no competition in my class so he bumped the audi up to full size and gave him first place?? What pissed me off was the judge was talking with this guy forever since he also had a audi wagon. Isn't their any rules for bias decision and shouldn't their be more judges..

That’s just the way it goes man. Iv seen this a million times. Guys that know the judges or have a common bond over a car will always take the trophy home. You have to figure that the judge's are going to like a certain car more than another no matter how well each of them are modded. Dont swet it man just keep entering and remember it's all for fun.

Ok thanks for the thoughts bro. I didn't know this was normal for a car show. I thought their would be more then one judge. It all wen't to charity so it was all good, but when he said he bumped the audi up, no one could believe he could do that.
Yeah judges can do whatever they want especially in a small show like the one you are talking about. The bigger shows like HIN have rules that the judges must follow, but even HIN judges can break the rules to help a friend win. ( HIN is just a example )

Ok. Im not so pissed now that this happened. The guy with the audi was also shocked that the judge did this and said before the awards that he was glad he registered mid size, since he didn't think he could win in full size class next to us.

It was fun. I'll be better prepared next time since we stood up for 7 hours in the sun. It was cool to see people stop buy and appreciate all the work done to the car. I guess im just competative nature why is was pissed..
sorry to hear that man. your car is clean. a lot of car shows and judging is political. sometimes it is about who you know and things like that. however my mentality when i go into a show is just to show off my car and what i have done to it. my reward is other peoples appreciation of that. and if i take a trophy home as well its just a bonus..
keep up the good work man.

That happened to me at world of wheels.
1). I got beat by a riced out Sentra. Took 2nd, thats fine.
2). When they were announcing the Awards for special classes or whatever, they said "Us being older men had a tendancy to look at the older cars more than the newer." Not one car they called was newer than 70's. So they basically told us that all they looked at were older cars.
So don't sweat it man, it happens to everyone. Everyone has their biased opinions.

Never took pics of the audi wagon since only thing done was a sound system and that was it, no exterior mods at all. My car is lowered on Ltuned with 20x8.5 front and 20x10 back. Sakataj thanks for the inside tip on my next show. Now i need to find a half naked chick and money, for my ace in the hole...

Its very very rare to find competant judges and a fair show. I've seen stock cars win next to very modded ones. Most judges know about one or two brands, not all of them. I've won 3rd place at NOPI (the biggest show) which shocked me.
I've also been a judge and its tough, there are a lot of good cars and effort in them and there can only be a few winners. .
