I am not HID or Xenon crazy like most people here, but just wanted some extra power from my high beams. I used them a lot last weekend in N. GA and was pretty dissatisfied with the stock bulb performance...they do almost nothing over the OEM HIDs.

I read a few things about the Sylvania Silverstar Ultras, then found a set on ebay for $18 shipped and figured I would give them a try. I swapped them in on Friday and am very happy with the results. The DRL doesn't have much of a different appearance but there is a lot more power and visibility in the high beams on the SS Ultras.

I don't have any comparison pics from inside the car but just these from shining on a wall. Sorry that there is a slight light discrepancy but the light in my parking deck was kind of flickering and made it hard to get perfect comparison pics. Overall the new bulbs are a nice improvement short of going to LEDs, HIDs, or Xenons.

i bought ssu for my fogs (9006 bulbs). i noticed the same improvement in brightness but they burnt out in 11 months. i went back to stock bulbs cuz they last longer.

 

Well I guess we will see what happens. For $18 I can handle replacing them every year.

Ditto on that. Ran them on my RX for a long time... went thru bulbs like crazy but in the end I kept buying them since the price isn't bad and the output IS noticeably better

micheal....dont cheap out here sir. get some HID'S i have had my high/fog kits for about 5 years and never had to change any bulbs or ballasts. only reason i did was when i decided to match all my HIDS to the same style 4300k my gs430 has thats the ONLY time i have changed the bulbs
