Intake manifold polish?
I'm replacing the starter in my 400 Monday...needless to say the intake manifold needs to come off... I was wondering what you thought about going in there with a Dremel and doing some polishing in there to smooth the airflow.
I'm sure my hp won't jump tremendously, but maybe a little? Some throttle response? Has anyone done it?

i saw just spray it with carb cleaning and clean the intake mani.. no need to polish unless you have a lot of time
not sure if the gain is noticeable on a polished mani vs a clean mani
hopefully someone can confirm

I don't know about hp gain but maybe you can check to see if the manifold ports match up with the gasket. If not then you should port match it for better flow. Sometimes from factory they don't match up.
I got the manifold off last night...there's a lot of black crap in the head ports AND the manifold. Thoughts on how to clean??
I'll probably stick a dremel in the manifold and maybe the gasket just to make sure things are smooth.

Whats up Bud!
I put on my Injen this weekend. I opened the throttle body and noticed alot of black carbon in there too.
Maybe spray it down with MAF cleaner. Its 3.99 a car for STP at Advance auto..
Mine seemed like a film not gunky like oil.
