Default Fuel Cut Off Switch

The other day I found the Fuel Pump Computer in the car. There are like 10 wires coming out of it. I was thinking of make a fuel cut-off switch. What wire should I use, can I just use the ground wire?

A fuel cut off switch is a great anti-theft device. It actually does what it's suppose to do. I put one in my Accord after it was stolen. I kills the engine in time enough for you to bash some heads in and take names. However, this is my first GS I wouldn't know which wire to connect to. Now I know that there is disableing system in the GS but I also heard that lately they have been able to bypass the system. Better safe than sorry!

fuel cutoff isnt going to do ****, hate to burst the bubble but all it takes is a tow truck, and anyone stealing a car most likely easly has access to a tow truck. Also just get a good insurance company, take pictures of your car regularly, ALL PARTS AND KEEP THEM FOR RECORDS

Hate to burst your bubble, but I'm talking from experience. I agree with getting good insurance, and constantly taking picutres of the car, but if you can't hear a frickin tow truck pulling up in your driveway or what not, then you're going to have problems. However, they still won't be able to start the car. Again, this device works, and like I said, I'm speaking from experience!

what makes you think a theif would go for it while its in your drive way, and i doubt that it would wake you enough to think "i bet thats a tow truck stealing my car", and once they get the car, hmmm it wont start, very few things it could be, simply reverse what you have done, not hard. But if you think if will help from it gettin stolen(pretty sure are cars have an imobilizer that CANT be bypassed by an everyday person, are cars are faily safe) go for it, get a lexus repair manual from steve, that should anwser any questions you have, but remeber your protecting a 26,000 dollar car, not a ferrari

BOTTOM LINE IS, IF A THIEF WANTS YOUR CAR THEN HE CAN GET IT PERIOD.

again, this is from experience. I never thought that a tow truck would just come up in your driveway and snacth your car. I was simply stateing that even if they were able to get your car, this fuel cut off would be in effect so the car would not start. To you it may be a $26000.00 car, but I don't put my hard earn money into something for anyone to come by and take from me. You're right about if anyone wants it, they're going to get it, but damn it I'm going to make it hard as hell from them too. About the immobilizer, yes there have been ways to bypass this, and it can take your average person to do this.

Speaking from experience too! If they want your car bad enough they will get it......point blank!!!!!!! The best thing to do is get some good insurance and make sure you do take pics often to prove to the insurance company you had the things you say and recepts to prove it.

The average person can imobilize the lexus, or then tell me how you would do it, the average person cant do it, and if they want it they will get it, by puttin that on there you will stop someone from driving it away, but then they say ok bring the truck or just get pissed and trash the car so bad nobody would want it

hey Bad, all I'm trying to say is that a fuel cut off device is an added security for your car. I am not a car thief, so I wouldn't try and tell you how to immobilize the car. This is all from experience with my Accord. I put one in and they never took the car again. I think you are taking this the wrong way. Like I said and agreed with you, if they want it they're going to get it. It's when they are trying to start the frickin thing, the engine would continue to do its revolution, while trying to pump fuel in, but it's not because of the switch. And why should we have to be on the wrong end of the stick, because someone got mad for not being able to steal your car? Again, I work hard for my money, and the way I build show cars, I would hate for someone to come and just take it from me when I could have prevented it!

Some advises, get the loudest alarm you can find.
and most important, always park your car where everyone can see. No underground parking.
If they really want you car, they will have it, just the matter how easy it is for them to get it. The stock alarm SUX, even amature like me can disable it.

if you want, there is a Fuel ECU or something in the fuse box, you can put a switch connect to the wire behind it. there are many way to steal a car (I do my hw) adding the switch DOES help. That is one of the way to prevent hot wire the car. Thief will not know why the heck the car won't start, he will leave or he will come back with a tow truck hee hee

I agree with you guys that if someone really wanted my car, they will get it no matter what, I have accepted that fact already. I just want to connect a switch to make me feel that I did all I could to prevent the thief from taking my car. Do you think the dealer would know what wire to use?
