Default After Market Navigation w/ Aux input

Hello All,

I have a 1999 GS300 with the stock Pioneer head unit and I was looking to see what type/brand you experts out there can recommend to me. Also want to mention that I'm planning on keeping the OEM 7 speaker system.

Looking for a Navigation unit that would play all types CD and DVD formats, play audio/video from my Iphone and control it from the head unit (ideally aux input that can be hidden in the glove box along with Iphone or Ipod). Also want to "unlock" it so that all features can be used while driving. It must be a double din size head unit and looking to spend no more than 1K (unless you all feel the need that I have to). I'll most likely install myself so I need a plug and play type assembly that's user friendly.

Thank you,
Al

I have an eclipse nav. you can pretty much get any nav and do what you want. to keep it as you say "unlocked," you have to ground the parking brake wire on the back of the harness. You can pick eclipses up on ebay pretty cheap now (I'd go 55XX or 66XX series).

Alpine IVA-W505/P1. It has docking navigation, Ipod interface that supposts Ipod video, AUX A/V input/outputs, reverse camera, pretty much the works.

I have to agreed with the Boss, im running D3 and 10"JL, stock 7 speakers Mtx subamp, sound remarkable crisp! i have pics of HU harness and stock Amp if u needed. need to bypass amp, run wires from new HU to harness after oem amp.
forgot, i have ipod classic fifth gen 30G hook right up to pioneer touch screen control, so awsome, please note that only fifth gen classic will be video compatible, new 6th is audio compt. only.

Its not possible to keep the factory sub working with an aftermarket HU is it? Unless you get an amp too?

I don't think D3 HU have enough juice! even though stock sub is free air, it will need more than D3 can give, and stock sub would not sound right any way. i had to put the JL W3 in enclosed box and hung it underside of the back deck so the sound bounces off the glass n come forth that when it came alive

Yeah why not! Z if you ok w/$ came w/all bell&whistle, F is also cool, my friend had one not too long ago-U don't need navi disc for map. it stores it in hdrive, yeah check them out, and here is f90bt bypass if U need it:
Ok, here is the bypass but please, DON'T WATCH VIDEO WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING! Ok, got that disclaimer out of the way....

1) Ground the light green wire from the main power harness
2) Carefully remove the MUTE wire (yellow w/black) from the RCA harness and put it in the open slot 4th from the side
on the row opposite of the one you took it out of. Ground that yellow/black as well with the light green and the black
ground wires as per usual. Make any sense at all? Let me know if it doesn't.

Good luck!
