Angry Trunk is locked !??!!

soooo i locked my master keys in the trunk on accident the other day and i dont have a spare. the only key that i have is the valet key and since i didn't know i inserted into the ignition without thinking. my car went into lockdown and now the trunk wont open at all. THAT INCLUDES the trunk release. the dealer wants to charge me around 300 dollars for a new cut key with ecu. do i have any other options?

Hmmm. you could take out the rear seat ---> remove center deck support bar ---> all other chit in the way.

Its just gonna be a pain to do this..
Theirs probably an easier way

I already did this too. Went down to Lexus with registration and they made me a new master key. A lot easier then removing the seat although it was a little more expensive.

I'm cheap and would remove the seat. I hope your GS isn't your daily driver.

Take off the two headrest... there are only one bolt for each headrest. You can do the tear down or own an extra key.

Read the part about removing the subwoofer. It's about an hour or so job. I can do it in 30 min or less since I've had to play around with my subwoofer

Like everyone said remove the back seat. But there is also a trick to this as well after removing the seat. Go get your self a long stick and look for the emergency trunk lacht. It is the glow in the dark piece. All you do is either push it up or down (forgot) and your trunk should pop right open. The lacht is about directly behind the licen plate if I am not wrong. (2003 GS) All can be done in 15 min. Its a good reason to explore your vechicl, GL!

Look under "Interor" and many props to that site

Take out the rear seat. There's a few DIYs on it. If you get that top portion down, you can reach for the emergency latch and open it up, if you can't reach your keys. Myself personally I climbed into the trunk and got it with my hand. If I can fit in there, judging by your shirt sizes for the VIP shirt, all you guys can fit in there too.

i'm cheap too...do the rear seat removal and then use my 2 yr old to crawl in or a long stick.

you push down on the emergency latch cord.and its on the right side if your facing the trunk from inside the car.

Correct me if I'm wrong, on the GS430, isn't the back blocked? How can you get in the trunk?
