in my opinion, i will say take off all the parts and sell the car stock... i think this way you can get more money! Theres is more than 20k mod there "I THink", if you sell the car as is, you can't really get 20k from a 99 gs. that just my 2 cent!

parting it out will yield you more money.

Selling the car as is, you've got to remember it's 10 years old with 100k on it. I would expect maybe 10 or 12. You never make money back on mods.

I would say 20-25k would be fair, you have to remember the market your selling to. If you want a turbo GS ans can afford it 20k, isn't that much money. If you want a turbo GS and plan on nickeling and diming to get a kit together then you probably aren't prepared to drop the amount of money needed to buy a properly built Gs. The part people never understand is that what they think they can build a FI GS for properly is always about a third of what they will spend in the end.

agreed! when i started this turbo project i had 10k set for it but ended up spending tons more...to do it proper costs so much more than just slapping on a kit from clubna-t...this car was built thinking i was going to make 700rwhp so there was no short cuts or ebay parts...

I think you are right about the price, but who will spend 20-25k on a 99 GS?? I didn't mean to say your car doesn't worth that much, but the population in this market will be not much. It is very simple, if you have 20-25k budget to get a car, will you get a 06 EVO/STI or a 99 GS-Turbo you can even get a LS or 06 E350? Don't flame me, it just my 2cent

Thats if you like Evo's or Sti's. I owned a Subaru and sold it within one year, Evo's are not a car to buy if you want any sort of resale value. Either of those cars are relatively small and not a great car for highway cruising or comfort like the GS is, not to mention they are more or less geared to the ricer market where the GS has some class.

The point is, if you wanted a Turbo GS and had a budget of $10k for the car and another $10-15k for the mods, then you could either buy the car and half of the stuff he has and have it installed, or you could buy his car with everything already down, for about .50 on the dollar for mods, and be driving the same day.

Secondly, if you were in the market for a Turbo big body 4 door (which the evo or sti is not) why would you consider a ES350? For that matter an LS? Those are totally different cars, he has a car which meets a niche market, it is worth the asking price to someone who is in the market for that type of vehicle, no one who is out looking for a 06 ES350 is going to consider a Turbo Gs. I wouldn't even think of selling my car for less than $20k, and probably not less than $25k (though I have more mods than the OP).
