catalytic converter replacement

My 1998 GS 300 with 132,000 kms needs a catalytic converter due to rattling while accelerating. The dealer quoted $1300 for parts only. I have found a used one at the salvage yard for $400. I don't know if there is a aftermarket replacement.
I need suggestions on what to do.
