Default HUGE system + 4 Compressors =?

Anybody run 4 compressors with their air setup? WITH a huge system?

With a little luck I'll be installing 2 more compressors to my air set up.... Question:

Those who are running 4 compressors (if any) with a 200+amp draw of system, what kind of electrical upgrades have you done? AND IF YOU HAVENT, have you had any problems? I currently am running 3 batteries with all 0awg with The Big Three. Should I go ahead and do an alternator swap? If so, how many amps is ample? Will the popular 130amp upgrade be sufficient, or should I go all the way up to the 200?

This is a VIP not a GS topic
Why would you need 4 compressors .
That is not even overkill it will just melt your car down.
If you need more air for some reason get a custom fabbed mechanical one that fits to the engine and has unlimited psi.

1 490c is more than most need.

I have 2 480s with a 5 gallon tank (and am adding another 5) and those 2 arent anywhere near enough for 5 gal yet alone 10! Every time I do 1 "up" they turn on, after the second up, tank is empty and I have to wait forever to get anymore air in there...

were can I get the custom fabbed one? I've heard of them, but apparently they arent used by many...

(dont see what VIP has to do with this topic?)

Absolutely agree with Chris. But I would never run that much stuff on the stock alternator. Its puny and hardly puts out even a 100 amps more like 80. I have a pretty big system in my GS with an optima, Big Three upgrade and 0AWG wiring I am at the max for the stock alternator. My voltage dips to 10s when the system is pumping. I cannot picture the stock alternator pushing 4 pumps and a system. Plus charging your 3 extra batteries.

Custom built is the only thing that comes to mind. Cause the 200 amp on ebay arent made too well. I know I had to change one that I had.

sorry bro, didn't mean to take it there...

But my question is, why do you need to make it go up, down, and back up so fast? Have you checked for leaks? How many PSI are you running your bags at? There are many things that can affect how much "play time" you have.

Chris

Chris
I have a slow leak on one bag (takes over night for it to fully deflate), but that will be taken care of when I upgrade all the hoses. I'm running 200psi. I dont expect much out of one tank, 5 gal (as said) only gives me 1 up (not even fully locked up, close though) second gives me maybe 3/4 up and so on. Speed isnt a big deal, it really isnt that bad, I dont want to shake the crap out of the car and jump it! LoL now if what I said i'm getting out of that 1 tank is not what every one else is getting, then what COULD be the problem? again, this what I want to do, I just want to know what a good amp rating alt would be good.

I'm not the only one here running 2- 5 gallon tanks, so I dont understand all the "whys" (not directed at you Chris) I just dont want to have to wait 10 minuets to fill them both up if I were to empty them. As I once said in another thread, I like to over do stuff for the "just in case". I like to be prepared

Well, I just got a PM in regards to the engine compressors... Thats something I'd rather use. If anyone has more info in regards to those, please let me know, again, I'd rather go that way then adding more compressors... thanks

Jokster,

you can find bigger air compressors that will make your recharge faster. I know some cats in Sacramento that run a shop and lucky for you they also run a website.

heres what you're looking for
http://www.fbirides.com/product.asp?idno=260651

be aware this compressor is VERY loud (and ugly) and probably will shake your car more than your dual compressors already do. Ive seen this thing in action...
