Question 2002 Navi update

So there seems to be some confusion as to whether or not this system can be updated to the latest/greatest version of the navi disk. I got an email from a local dealer who is trying very hard to gain traction in the area. Their service is not bad, but their people need to understand that I expect a certain level of courtesy from a dealer and I'm not willing to budge on that. I get treated very well at my usual dealer, which is why he's my usual dealer.

All that being said, can we update to the new 2008 disk, or is there a limitation to a previous version? I did search, but as I said, there seems to be some confusion as to the date capability.

Also, I've seen people selling copies of the disk on Craigslist and I was wondering how difficult it might be to update mine. I see no disk slot in the trunk, but I wasn't willing to really tear into it and see what was what yet.

Thanks all!

Thanks, Brian. The dealer wasn't telling me no, it was information I've found online. The dealer sent me the postcard, but my previous encounter with them was keeping me away. I likes my service rep to be friendly, and he better call me by my first name - my dad gets a Mr. in front of his, not me.

Thanks for the head's up on the bootleg. I thought it seemed way too good to be true to get it for $75. Anyone know how much the 8.1 disc is from Sewell?

Thanks again,

Big Mack
